ASHLEE JORDAN
Venturing down paths previously deemed “unworthy” or “selfish,” Ashlee boldly approaches Hip Hop in her delicate yet raw nature.
Initially only writing lyrics on occasion, just as her mother did, few had ever heard Ashlee rhyme. Her high standards, defined by “Pac, Nas, Jay, Em…” and even a couple talented peers, kept her from sharing; from most anyway. A close friend, also close in the amateur-rhyme level, offered a comfort zone for Ashlee. After his tragic passing during their senior year of high school, Ashlee set the pen aside and retreated from certain environments.
Fast-forward a decade or so, maneuvering through the facade of a successful and growing career, Ashlee’s pen reappears as pure therapy and ultimately a savior from a life-threatening situation.
Making her way from the pen to the microphone, Ashlee Jordan delivers in a tone that resonates with all, regardless of generation or background. A vivid and blunt lyrical purpose with a confident sweet freedom is electrifying to witness.
The “Ash” EP, represents her very first attempts in music with raw, heartfelt lyrics over a West Coast spaced-out groove. The scripted, semi-fictional story “ROSE” is part one of a trilogy series centered around Hip Hop and Eternity. Both “Ash” and “ROSE” bare witness to the experience, talent, and humble artistry of Ashlee Jordan.
